EUR/JPY Fundamental Analysis October 22, 2012 Forecast

Analysis and Recommendations:

The EUR/JPY climbed to 103.73 on a weakening JPY. After recording five straight days of gains, EUR/JPY touched a 5-month high of 104.10 yesterday before easing off a bit. The JPY continues to weaken on the possibility of the Bank of Japan offering monetary stimulus at their meeting towards the end of the month. While the euro remains fairly positive, with news from the EU Summit that the Ministers have approved a final plan for a banking supervisor. There still is no word on Spain and rumors are that Rajoy is not going to ask for aid at this time, with Spanish yields dropping. Greece remains a problem as violent riots have broken out against austerity.
