In this article:

The gold futures contract gained 0.81% on Friday, as it fluctuated along the $1,800 price level. The daily high was at $1,815.50 but its closing price fell slightly below the $1,800 level. Gold was the highest since Sep. 7 following weakening U.S. dollar and rising stock markets, among other factors. This morning gold is trading along the $1,800 level, as we can see on the daily chart (the chart includes today’s intraday data):

Today gold is 0.5% higher, as it is trading at its recent local high and the $1,800 level. What about the other precious metals? Silver is 0.3% higher, platinum is 0.1% higher and palladium is 0.1% higher. So precious metals’ prices are higher this morning.

Friday’s Flash Manufacturing PMI, Flash Services PMI releases have been mixed. Today we won’t get any new important economic data releases. The markets will be waiting for tomorrow’s CB Consumer Confidence release.
