The unemployment rate in Austria rose to 7.5% in November 2025 from 7.2% in the same month a year earlier, marking the highest reading since February. The total number of unemployed persons increased by 16,000 year-on-year, reaching a nine-month high of 320,400. Compared with October, the number of unemployed also rose by 9,900. Breaking the figures down by gender, the jobless rate for women came in at 7.3%, 0.4 percentage points higher than in November 2024, while the rate for men rose by 0.3 percentage points to 7.7%. Additionally, around 399,000 people were registered as unemployed or undergoing training in October.
