Switzerland Retail Sales YoY

Retail sales in Switzerland advanced 2.7% year-on-year in October 2025, surpassing market estimates of a 1.2% gain and following an upwardly revised 1.8% increase in the previous month. Sales growth picked up for non-food products (4.8% vs 2.9% in September), other goods (3.7% vs 2.2%), and information and communication equipment (19.8% vs 19.1%). Additionally, sales rebounded sharply for household equipment and furniture (5.1% vs -0.7%) and cultural and recreational goods (1.2% vs -1.4%), while declines eased at service stations (-0.1% vs -1.2%). In contrast, activity moderated for food, beverages and tobacco (0.5% vs 1.6%) and for online and mail order sales (3.0% vs 3.2%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail trade rose 0.7% in October, following a downwardly revised 0.5% growth in the prior period. Excluding fuel, retail sales increased by 3% year-on-year in October from 2.3% in September.
