The ECB will conduct its monthly Press Conference today. No changes are expected for the Minimum Bid Rate, but Mario Draghi is certain to shake forex as he delivers the European Central Bank’s economic outlook for the European Union.
Wall Street continued to prove resilient on Wednesday as gains were made on the three major Indexes. Congress was able to approve a short-term budget yesterday allowing the official the U.S ‘debt ceiling’ to be raised, which means the government can continue to spend. Hurricane Irma will remain an important consideration for investors in the near term as it approaches the States. And Weekly Unemployment Claims figures will be released today.
Asian equities have produced gains this morning as signs of risk taking have emerged. However, trading volumes have been thin as concerns about North Korea linger and traders stay cautious. The Yen has been weaker this morning and is back above the 109.00 juncture against the U.S Dollar. Tomorrow Gross Domestic Product results will come from Japan.
Attention on the European Central Bank will be the dominant theme for investors today as President Mario Draghi delivers pronouncements about the E.U’s economic outlook. The Euro has been produced a steady trend higher the past few months. Draghi is expected to outline the possibility for changes to monetary policy that could take place early next year. The Euro is above the 1.19 ratio against the U.S Dollar and it will experience rapid trading today.
Crude Oil is likely to produce volatility today as the U.S Crude Oil Inventories data is released, and traders fret about potential supply problems which Hurricane Irma could cause. U.S Crude Oil is slightly above 49.00 U.S Dollars a barrel this morning.
Global investors will keep their eyes on President Mario Draghi as he starts the ECB Press Conference at 12:30 GMT.
