AI integration has moved quickly through the retail brokerage space in recent months.
Several brokers have already launched Model Context Protocol servers that allow traders to connect their accounts to AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini, turning natural language queries into real-time account lookups. Until now, that development had not reached prop trading.
FundedNext, one of the leading prop trading firms in the industry, has changed that by becoming the first proprietary trading firm to launch an MCP server. The integration allows traders to connect their FundedNext accounts directly to any MCP-compatible AI assistant and query live account data through conversation rather than navigating multiple dashboard screens.
Alongside the MCP rollout, the firm has introduced Clarity Cards, a dashboard feature designed to surface trading rule violations and their payout impact in real time.
Model Context Protocol is an open standard that enables AI assistants to securely pull live data from external platforms. With FundedNext’s implementation, a trader can ask their AI assistant questions in plain language and receive answers drawn directly from their account data. That includes queries about drawdown limits, consistency rule status, payout eligibility, trading performance across sessions, open positions, and account-level compliance.
The integration works across all FundedNext account types: CFD platforms (MT4, MT5, cTrader, Match-Trader) and futures accounts on Tradovate. It covers challenge accounts, funded accounts, free trials, and competitions.
For traders managing multiple accounts across different challenge phases and funded stages, the practical application is significant. Prop trading rule sets are layered and account-specific. Drawdown calculations, consistency thresholds, payout windows, and violation flags all vary depending on the account type, the challenge path, and the phase. Manually checking each of those across several accounts is time-consuming. A single conversational query can now return cross-account analysis in seconds.
The integration is strictly read-only. The AI assistant can retrieve and analyze data but cannot execute trades, modify account settings, or make any changes to a trader’s account. Authentication runs through OAuth 2.0, meaning the trader signs in through their own FundedNext credentials and their password is never shared with the AI assistant. Access can be revoked at any time.
Setup takes roughly two minutes. Traders open their AI assistant’s connector settings, add a new connector named FundedNext, paste the server URL, and approve access through the FundedNext authentication screen. The service is free for all traders with no usage cap.
The second component of this update addresses a long-standing friction point in prop trading: understanding exactly why a payout was adjusted.
Previously, traders would often discover payout deductions only at the point of withdrawal, with limited visibility into which specific rule triggered the adjustment or how much it affected the final amount. Clarity Cards change that by surfacing rule violations and their consequences as they happen during a trading cycle. Whether the flag is for a quick-strike trade on CFD, a margin usage breach, a risk limit violation, a news trading adjustment, or micro-scalping on futures, the dashboard now shows the specific rule, the specific violation, and the specific payout impact.
When traders go to withdraw, a breakdown link shows exactly what was deducted and why. The shift is from post-withdrawal surprises to mid-cycle visibility, giving traders the ability to adjust their approach before it affects their payout rather than finding out after the fact.
