Global investors will focus on political instability generating via Germany today as Angela Merkel’s leadership appears in question. The Euro has sold off against the U.S Dollar. Equities have sold off in early Asian market action.

Merkel’s Leadership in Question in Germany, German Elections a Possibility

What had been expected to be a mere formality for German Chancellor Merkel to form a government has turned tumultuous. It appears Germany may be confronted with a new election for leadership after talks collapsed surprisingly on Sunday. The Euro has sold off and is under pressure as it tries to say above 1.17 against the U.S Dollar. European Central Bank President Draghi is speaking today, but investors will gear their attention towards Germany.

Wall Street Proving Cautious, Equities Remain Highly Valued but Nervous

U.S investors who are anticipating a long holiday weekend as Thanksgiving approaches will first have to deal with a cold plate of reality. Wall Street proved cautious before the weekend. Equities remain highly valued in the U.S but have not pushed higher the past couple of weeks. Data will be light in the States today with only the Conference Board’s Leading Index being published.

Trade Balance Improves for Japan, Asian Equities under Pressure

Asian equities have opened with losses today as investors react to uncertainty in the global markets. Japan’s Trade Balance numbers were published this morning and were better than anticipated. The Yen has been strong and is near 112.00 against the U.S Dollar. All Industries Activity will come from Japan early tomorrow.

Gold will Allure Speculative Action, Gains in Gold Hold Values

Gold will be watched carefully in the coming days if political concerns build in Europe. The precious metal is near 1291.00 U.S Dollars an ounce after holding onto recent gains and speculators will be active.

Draghi Testimony Today in Brussels, Conference Board Survey in U.S

European Central Bank President Mario Draghi will begin his economic testimony at 14:00 GMT in Brussels.
