Interactive Brokers Announces September’s Performance Metrics

Leading American retail FX broker Interactive Brokers Group, Inc., reported its monthly trading metrics for the month of September 2014. The figures are mixed though much better than for the previous year.

Interactive Brokers announced that the Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs) in September were 17 percent more than in August and 21 percent up from September 2013. Total client equity fell 1 percent from August to $54.9 billion in September. However, the figure jumped 33 percent from September 2013.

The client equity totaled 272,000 accounts, an increase of 1 percent from August and 18 percent higher from September 2013.

The ending customer margin loan balances rose 4 percent from August 2014 and by 36 percent from September 2013. The ending customer credit balances rose 21 percent from September last year and 1 percent more from August 2014.

The average commission per cleared client order stood at $4.22, inclusive of exchange, regulatory and clearing charges.

Meanwhile, CME Group has hired William Knottenbelt to fill in the post of the Senior Managing Director that resulted from the sudden exit of Julien Le Noble. In his new role, Mr. Knottenbelt will be responsible for managing client relationships, company’s business growth and development across Asia and Latin America as well as Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions.

Knottenbelt began working at CME Group in 2011 after a lengthy stint at the Royal Bank of Scotland, where he left as the Global Head of Futures after holding various posts in FX, prime brokerage and interest rate derivatives
