Aubrey Drake Graham, the Canadian singer, and actor who’s popularly known as Drake, recently told his Instagram followers about betting more than a million in Bitcoin (BTC) on Super Bowl matches.

Another Star in The Crypto World

The award-winning rapper made his bets using the crypto betting platform called Stake and shared in a social media post that he has placed BTC bets worth a total of $1.26 million on the upcoming Superbowl match between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams.

According to the platform, CryptoCompare, Stake is a fun-themed Bitcoin gambling website with a wide range of games available, including cards, dice, among others. Through this platform which many users call a ‘Crypto Casino’ the rapper bet over $471,000 for the Rams to be the winner, including overtime.

Drake shared the post with a caption, “All bets are in on the family.” The Canadian rapper also expressed his confidence in the Rams’ wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Furthermore, the musician placed around $392,000 on Beckham having more than 62.5 receiving yards, and another $392,000 on the wide receiver having over 0.5 anytime touchdown.

Crypto Fever on the Sports Industry

Just a couple of days ago, cryptocurrency exchange FTX US announced that it will be giving away free Bitcoin as part of its upcoming advertising campaign during Super Bowl LVI. A while back the National Football League (NFL) superstar Tom Brady declared that he intends to focus on his NFT platform Autograph.

Furthermore, last June, Brady and his wife Gisele Bündchen invested in the cryptocurrency exchange FTX Trading as brand ambassadors. In addition to that, Football star Lionel Messi in 2021, released his own NFT crypto art collection, known as the ‘Messiverse’.

Over the last year, there have been more and more collaborations between sporting organizations and players. One of the most prominent partnerships however was Crypto.com taking over the naming rights to the former Staples Cente.

That said, while the partnerships bloom, a considerable amount of skepticism due to crypto hacks has been around too. In January this year, for instance, Crypto.com was hacked for a reported $30 million in Bitcoin and Ethereum.
