Chart

I began reviewing forex brokers for FXEmpire in 2022, following my 9-year career as a retail trader and market analyst. Using my experience and knowledge, I took an active role in developing our rating system. I’m reviewing OneRoyal for the first time. For this review, I opened live and demo versions of the Classic and ECN accounts with Royal ETP LLC and tested the MetaTrader 5 platform on desktop and mobile.

Quick Verdict on OneRoyal

🟢 Best For: OneRoyal offers an impressive selection of market research tools. News traders can benefit from Acuity’s signals, Autochartist technical pattern recognition, and in-house market analyses. The broker also stands out with a vast selection of over 2,000 trading assets, giving traders strong options for portfolio diversification.

🔴 Less Ideal For: Cost-sensitive traders and beginners. My fee testing showed that OneRoyal could be expensive for trading some forex pairs, share CFDs, and indices like Dow Jones. And while the broker offers various educational materials, beginners would need more structured resources.

OneRoyal Overview

Headquartered in Australia and founded in 2006, OneRoyal is an established broker that operates globally and is regulated by several bodies, including CySEC and ASIC. It provides more than 2,000 tradable instruments via MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. Traders can benefit from Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting, actionable signals from Acuity, and Autochartist content.

My Key Takeaways of OneRoyal

  • I was impressed by OneRoyal’s depth of market research. The broker integrates actionable trading signals by Autochartist and AI-generated content by Acuity, offering news traders a comprehensive overview of the latest trading setups.
  • I also appreciated the diverse range of accounts. OneRoyal offers swap-free Islamic accounts and PAMM/MAM accounts for managed trading.
  • OneRoyal boasts a vast selection of over 2,000 tradable instruments across currency pairs, commodities, stocks, indices, cryptocurrencies, and ETFs. The broker offers access to some rare FX pairs, such as CHFPLN and SGDJPY.
  • On the fees front, OneRoyal left me with mixed feelings. Broadly, its spreads on instruments from most asset classes fluctuate around the respective industry averages. However, stocks are quite expensive. For example, I calculated a $76 cost of trade on Tesla shares vs the $48.73 industry benchmark.

OneRoyal Pros and Cons

Pros Cons
  • Outstanding market research
  • 2,000+ tradable instruments
  • Reliable customer support
  • $0 deposit accounts
  • VPS hosting
  • Reimbursements on all deposit and withdrawal processing fees
  • High spreads on stocks
  • No alternative to MetaTrader
  • Educational content lacks structure

What Sets OneRoyal Apart?

OneRoyal lives up to its royal name with its comprehensive research offering. The broker keeps the news flow going with its several news screeners. I also enjoyed switching between the actionable trading signals by Acuity and Autochartist, which track the latest trading setups as they emerge. I found the content equally suited for news traders, short-term volatility traders, and longer-term trend traders.

Trust

4.1
How Did We Test the Broker's Trustworthiness?
Assessing a broker's trustworthiness with your funds is vital. To help you make the right decision, we carefully checked each broker's regulatory license and examined how well they protect traders. Moreover, we looked at the broker's stability by studying their business history, corporate structure, and industry experience. Finally, we thoroughly reviewed all of the broker's legal documentation, including terms, conditions, and fees, and evaluated their transparency based on our analysis. Our hands-on approach ensures that even novice traders have the knowledge they need to make smart decisions.
trust chart

OneRoyal operates four entities. Two of them are supervised by Tier-1 regulators, CySEC and ASIC; one is regulated offshore by the VFSC; and the fourth is unregulated. I confirmed that OneRoyal segregates client funds across all entities, but negative balance protection is only ensured with ASIC- and CySEC-regulated entities. Another plus is that the unregulated entity provides coverage of up to €20,000 under The Financial Commission. I confirmed that OneRoyal maintains good overall transparency, even though I found some discrepancies about negative balance protection. I also learned that OneRoyal’s Australian entity currently onboards only wholesale clients.

How Does OneRoyal Protect You?

I checked the broker’s client agreement and confirmed the protections to which OneRoyal clients are entitled. It is accessible from the ‘About Us’ section of the website, under the ‘Legal Documents’ subsection.

Here is what I found out about the broker:

Stability and Transparency

I checked OneRoyal’s LinkedIn profile and found that the broker is headquartered in Australia and has been operational since 2006. I also learned that its company size is in the 200-250 range, which is larger than most other brokers in OneRoyal’s tier.

I then confirmed OneRoyal’s membership to The Financial Commission – an international resolution scheme with an €20,000 client coverage. It means that in cases of conflict of interest with the broker, you may be compensated by up to that amount. This participation is not mandated by a regulator, which is why Royal ETP LLC deserves credit for the extra steps it took to ensure client safety.

Another thing I really appreciated about OneRoyal is that it highlights the fact that the Royal ETP LLC entity is not regulated. This speaks to the broker’s high regulatory transparency and makes it appear more trustworthy.

OneRoyal’s poorly defined negative balance protection policy is my only concern with the broker. While the website says this safety mechanism is available to the broker’s active clients, the client agreement states the exact opposite.

Points 21.11 and 21.12 of the client agreement state that OneRoyal is not obligated to provide negative balance protection to the Client, and that it is the Client’s sole responsibility to fill any negative balance in the account.

Is OneRoyal Safe?

I found OneRoyal sufficiently safe to trade with due to the following factors:

  • Regulated by ASIC and CySEC.
  • Keeps client funds segregated.
  • Provides €20,000 client coverage.

Fees

3.5
How Did We Test the Broker's Fees and Commissions?
Broker commissions and fees can be challenging to understand. To simplify this for you, we carefully examined all the broker's fee-related documentation and presented it in a clear, easy-to-understand format. Furthermore, we conducted hands-on tests on spreads and commissions for the most common instruments during both London and New York trading sessions. We then compared these real-time test results to the market benchmark we've established through our extensive experience evaluating the industry.
fees chart

OneRoyal’s fees are a bit of a mixed bag. From my live testing, gold spreads ranged from 26 to 28 cents vs. a 33-cent industry average, while Tesla spread reached 76 cents on the Standard account, compared to the $0.49 benchmark. Stocks were expensive on both Classic and ECN accounts, although DAX spreads beat the average. Overnight fees fluctuated from low to average, making OneRoyal a suitable choice for swing trading. And while OneRoyal charges dormant accounts with a €10 inactivity fee, the broker compensates its clients for any withdrawal processing fees incurred from third parties.

OneRoyal Spreads

I tested OneRoyal’s spreads on Classic and ECN live accounts on 7 July during the London and New York market openings, using MetaTrader 5. Here are my results:

Account Type Classic ECN
Instrument Live Spread AM Live Spread PM Industry Average* Live Spread AM Live Spread PM Industry Average*
EURUSD 1.7 pips 1.6 pips 1.15 pips 0.3 pips 0.2 pips 0.06 pips

Dow Jones 30 4.0 basis points 4.0 basis points 3.3 basis points 3.0 basis points 3.0 basis points 2.2 basis points
Germany 40 2.0 basis points 2.0 basis points 2.6 basis points 0.9 basis points 0.8 basis points 1.5 basis points
Bitcoin $40.05 $37 $45.36 $22 $24.35 $23.69

*These industry average values are derived from a pool of nearly 70 brokers that we tested. The numbers were last updated in January 2026.

Classic Account: My hands-on tests showed that OneRoyal’s Classic account is a good fit for gold trading. The 27-cent gold spread I recorded beat our benchmark. GBPJPY, DAX, and Bitcoin spreads also came out very competitive. While the WTI spread met the industry average of $0.04.

It’s a whole different story for FX majors, US indices, and stocks in particular. EURUSD and US30 traded above their respective benchmarks, while the Apple and Tesla spreads I recorded surged. The 76-cent TSLA spread came in especially high relative to the 49-cent industry average.

ECN Account: Compared to other commission-based accounts, OneRoyal’s ECN account features mostly elevated spreads. The only exceptions were spreads on Germany 40 and BTCUSD, which beat the industry average by 0.8 basis points and $22, respectively. Gold and WTI spreads met the industry averages, while instruments from other asset classes outpaced the benchmarks.

Once again, Tesla shares were the big outlier of my testing. I recorded a massive $2.13 TSLA spread vs the industry average of $0.41.

OneRoyal Commissions

In addition to spreads, OneRoyal charges round-trip commissions on the ECN account. A round-turn (also round-trip) commission is a fee you pay to open and close a full-sized contract (100,000 units).

Asset Class Commission* Industry Average
Forex Pairs $7 $5.99
Metals $7 $5.62
Energies $7 $2.74
Stocks $2 $1.84
Indices $0.7 $0.9
Cryptocurrencies $7 $2.29

*Round-turn per one full contract

Except for the $0.7 commission on indices and the $2 commission on stocks, OneRoyal’s commissions exceed the industry standards.

OneRoyal Swaps

I tested OneRoyal’s swaps on a Classic account on 7 July 2026. I used a live account with the MetaTrader 5 platform.

The values listed below are for one full base currency contract (100,000 units):

Instrument Swap Long Industry Average
EURUSD Charge of $7.76 $7.64
GBPJPY Credit of $10.71 $7.74
Gold (XAUUSD) Charge of $58.42 $65.65
Crude Oil Credit of $42.2 $2.22
Apple Charge of $4 $6.83
Dow Jones 30 Charge of $50.98 $86.06
Bitcoin Charge of $15 $20.05

OneRoyal’s overnight costs were mostly kept low, except for FX and WTI swaps. That’s why I consider the broker an acceptable choice for swing trading.

The highlight of the testing was the $15 BTCUSD swap long, which beat the $20.05 industry average and combined well with the broker’s competitive crypto spreads.

Please note that swaps fluctuate over time, subject to changing interest rates.

Are OneRoyal’s Fees Competitive?

To help you understand how much you’ll pay to trade each instrument, I calculated the cost of trade using the formula: spread rate x pip value + commission rate (swaps are not included).

Instrument Classic Account Industry Average ECN Account Industry Average
EURUSD $16.5 $11.54 $9.5 $6.99
GBPJPY* $16 $17.48 $15.32 $12.55
Gold (XAUUSD) $27 $33.02 $19 $17.00
Crude Oil $40 $39.66 $27 $29.74
Apple $55 $31.78 $40 $26.14
Tesla $76 $48.73 $215 $43.24
Dow Jones 30 $40 $33.37 $30.7 $23.90
Germany 40* $23.6 $30.51 $10.73 $19.90
Bitcoin $38.5 $45.36 $30 $25.98

*The base currency values are converted to US dollars.

Classic Account: I found OneRoyal’s Classic account a good option for gold traders. I calculated a $27 cost of trade on XAUUSD vs the $33.02 industry benchmark. GBPJPY and DAX 40 costs also came out low.

On the other hand, stock prices were well above the industry average in my test. The $76 TSLA cost of trade marked the biggest divergence from the $48.73 industry average.

ECN Account: The ECN account also offers competitive conditions for trading the German DAX 40 index. The $10.73 cost of trade I calculated came in nearly two times lower than the industry average of $19.90.

On the other hand, the ECN account performed even worse than the Classic account in stocks. I calculated that it will cost you $215 to trade Tesla, compared to the $43.24 industry average.

OneRoyal Non-Trading Fees

Inactivity Fee: OneRoyal charges a $10 fee after 6 months of inactivity. You will be charged monthly until account activity resumes or the balance drops to zero.

Deposit and Withdrawal Fees: $0. OneRoyal has you covered for both deposits and withdrawals. The broker would compensate you for any processing fees incurred from third parties.

The broker also integrates the One Pro Copy and One Copy Trader copy-trading services and provides Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting for low-latency trading. Plus, account managers can benefit from MultiTerminal and MetaFX account tools. But the lack of a more modern alternative to MetaTrader can limit some traders.

MT5 App

I tested the OneRoyal MT5 App on my personal Google Pixel phone running Android. I downloaded the App from the Google Play Store and had it installed in seconds.

The MT5 app supports most of the desktop platform’s functionalities, such as watchlist customization, placing market, limit, and stop orders, and more. So the app lets you stay connected to the market and adjust your positions on the go.

You can place market, limit, and stop orders, as well as manage position size and risk directly from the app. That said, the charting experience still feels a bit cramped, and price action can be hard to scale and analyze comfortably on a small screen.

VPS Hosting

OneRoyal provides Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting for high-volume and high-precision traders seeking fast execution. The service allows you to achieve average execution speeds of under 10ms. Here are the subscription fees for the broker’s three tiers:

OneRoyal Execution Parameters

Execution Model

My research showed that OneRoyal operates as a Straight-Through-Processing (STP) broker. Client orders are sent to the broker’s pool of liquidity providers, where they get filled at the best available price.

Execution Speed

I measured OneRoyal’s average order execution speed by placing several orders on the EURUSD, GBPJPY, gold, crude oil, Apple, Tesla, the Dow Jones 30, Germany 40, and Bitcoin. These orders were executed in quick succession on 7 July, just after the New York market opening.

Please note that I used a demo account for my hands-on tests because I did not deposit real capital to my live account. Here are my results:

Instrument Recorded Speed Industry Average
EURUSD 425ms 148ms
GBPJPY 298ms 220ms
Gold 234ms 242ms
Crude Oil 310ms 201ms
Apple 396ms 351ms
Tesla 200ms 338ms
Dow Jones 30 180ms 209ms
Germany 40 320ms 277ms
Bitcoin 266ms 241ms

Note that these values are only illustrative and not necessarily what you might experience with the broker

I calculated OneRoyal’s average order execution speed at 292 ms, which came in slightly above the industry benchmark of 243ms (based on the performance of 12 brokers I recently reviewed).

OneRoyal’s range of trading products is one of its strongest sides, with more than 2,000 CFD instruments across currency pairs, commodities, stocks, indices, cryptocurrencies, and ETFs. They can be traded spot or as futures contracts. I noticed that the number of instruments across all asset classes exceeds our benchmark, while the bulk of the selection consists of 1,700+ stocks. I also appreciated the addition of some rare pairs, such as CHFPLN and SGDJPY. Such FX pairs are not available with most other brokers, making OneRoyal a great pick for traders interested in exotic crosses.

How Did We Test the Broker's Customer Support?
Traders often underestimate the importance of customer support, yet it proves to be a critical aspect during times of crisis. We put the broker's customer support to the test ourselves using all possible channels, such as chat, phone, and others. Our evaluation focused on the accessibility of live agents, as well as the helpfulness and professionalism of their responses. This way, we provide you with comprehensive insights into whether a broker can deliver full support when you need it most.

OneRoyal provides more support channels than most other brokers. You can contact the broker via live chat, Instagram DMs, or Messenger. And if you fancy old-school communication, then you can drop them an email or request a callback from a representative. I tested the broker’s AI agent by asking a series of questions related to OneRoyal’s services. It responded swiftly and thoroughly, always strengthening the answers with references to more detailed information. I found OneRoyal’s assistance fast and reliable.

I tested OneRoyal’s support on 13 July, using live chat. The AI Assistant connected to the chat instantly, and I inquired about the broker’s minimum deposit requirement and maximum retail leverage for instruments from different markets.

The AI agent’s answers were swift and comprehensive. It also provided sources for its responses, which I really appreciated. Traders can use these to verify information and conduct further research. And if the agent can’t answer a question, you can always request to speak to a live agent.

I found OneRoyal’s customer support very helpful, and I would recommend it to both active clients of the broker and casual visitors to the website.

OneRoyal claims to offer over 50 payment options, including bank wire, credit and debit cards, popular e-wallets, and cryptocurrencies. I learned that the broker reimburses third-party banking fees on both deposits and withdrawals. OneRoyal is the first broker I’ve reviewed to offer such comprehensive reimbursements on both sides.

How Did We Test the Broker's Account Types and Terms?
When it comes to achieving your trading goals, choosing the proper account is essential. We initiated our evaluation by personally opening an account with the broker, which allowed us to gain firsthand experience of the process and accurately asses, how fast and easy it is. In addition, we carried out an in-depth analysis of the account types and features offered by the broker, including spreads, maximum leverage, minimum deposits, and more. For a comprehensive comparison, we turned to our proprietary database and examined how this broker's account offerings and processes stacked up against other brokers.

OneRoyal’s accounts differ in their minimum deposit requirements and pricing mechanisms. The Classic account is the only one to feature an all-inclusive spread from 1.4 pips with no commissions.

The ECN and Prime accounts are, in turn, calibrated for raw spreads trading. While the ECN account’s commission is $7, you can benefit from the industry-low $3.5 on the Prime account. But consider that the minimum deposit on the second one is $5,000, compared to $5 on the ECN account.

The rest of the features – platforms, base currencies, margin calls and stop outs are identical across all accounts. I consider the ECN account the most affordable option of the three. My testing confirmed that it has more competitive pricing than the Classic account and is more affordable (no minimum deposit) than the Prime account.

PAMM/MAM Trading

OneRoyal also caters to account managers who can trade on behalf of their clients using the MetaFX functionality. It features various allocation tools and a Master Account capability, which allows you to execute the same order across multiple client accounts. Account managers can install the MetaFX functionality directly on MT4 or MT5. Alternatively, they can opt for the MultiTerminal plugin, which serves the same purpose.

What Leverage Does OneRoyal Offer?

OneRoyal offers trading with up to 1:1000 leverage, which is higher than the industry average of 1:500. It means that if you open a trade with a $100 margin and use the full 1:1000 leverage, you would be able to open a position worth $100,000.

A word of caution: Trading on margin with high leverage is extremely risky and may result in significant losses.

How Did We Test the Broker's Research Tools?
Research options offered by brokers may not be seen as the most important feature for some traders, but they can provide a competitive advantage. To assess the broker's research offerings, we personally explored and tested both proprietary and third-party tools and content, such as Fundamental and Technical Analysis, Market News, educational videos, and webinars. After evaluating the availability and quality of the overall research offering, we compared the results with our benchmark to provide a comprehensive analysis of the broker's research capabilities.
research chart

OneRoyal excels in the research category. It offers an AI-powered economic calendar, actionable trading signals from Acuity, content from Autochartst, and proprietary market breakdowns published in its blog. As a whole, OneRoyal’s content surpasses most other brokers’ offerings and serves both news and day traders.

Economic Calendar

The AI-powered calendar by OneRoyal breaks the mold with its polished look. You can use it to filter upcoming events, which appear in a neat, ordered list on the screen. When you click an event, you can see consensus forecasts, previous results, release dates, and the latest numbers.

Market Scanner

OneRoyal’s market scanner filters the day’s top gainers, top losers, and most volatile assets. However, make sure to use it alongside other tools to get the full picture. I wouldn’t recommend the scanner as the only source of trading signals.

When I first checked the market scanner, it showed the prevailing sentiment on MSFT shares was bearish. There was a 90% confidence that the bearish momentum would persist over the next 3 days; however, I continued to monitor the situation for the same duration, and the share price actually rebounded from the previous low.

Action News

The AI-powered ‘Action News’ tool was my favorite in OneRoyal’s large collection. It turns the latest market news into actionable trading signals. The tool also neatly separates the top gainers from the top losers on an XYZ diagram, helping you gauge the underlying market commitment.

The trending instruments screener

Acuity Content

Acuity’s AI-generated trading signals serve day traders and volatility traders. They flag viable entry levels, target levels, and recommended stop-loss levels. You can also use Acuity’s content to determine the market’s general direction and underlying commitment.

Blog

OneRoyal also has a blog that covers major financial news impacting the market. I checked one such article, the ‘Weekly Market Update: 10th July 2026’, and found it broad and detailed. It correctly identified the most anticipated market events that could create meaningful trading opportunities.

Autochartist

Autochartist is considered one of the two biggest and most trusted sources of technical analyses and trading signals. OneRoyal offers an Autochartist plugin for MT4 and MT5 that can be installed to access actionable trading signals directly on the platform.

Autochartist trading signals typically include viable entry levels, take profit levels, and stop-loss levels. They are also supported by charts, employ numerous technical indicators, such as MACD, BBs, MAs, and more, and offer the most exhaustive and well-researched market reviews available.

Education

How Did We Test the Broker's Education Offering?
Gaining knowledge about trading in the financial markets can make the difference between success and failure. To assess the broker's educational offerings, we personally tested and evaluated the quality of the content provided, considering its relevance for both novice and experienced traders. We explored the range of materials available, such as articles, videos, webinars, and courses. After evaluating the content's volume, update frequency, and overall quality, we compared the results with our benchmark to provide a well-rounded analysis of the broker's education offerings.
education chart

OneRoyal offers 170+ educational videos and webinars in English and Arabic on its YouTube channel, as well as nearly 70 blog articles. The materials are detailed, and you can learn a lot about technical analysis. However, I would be happy to see more materials dedicated to fundamental analysis, trading psychology, and risk management, as well as alternative formats like courses and ebooks. Plus, I noticed that no new webinars have been published recently.

I worked my way through a couple of articles (on the application of economic calendars and on the impact of geopolitics in trading) and one exhaustive video on the importance of market sentiment, and found them both illuminating and easy to digest.

However, I would have appreciated a more structured content, building up from basic concepts, such as how to read price action and where to place protective stop-losses, to these more sophisticated topics. Also, there is a lack of diversity: besides the blog articles and YouTube videos, there are no other formats.

I felt that OneRoyal’s materials are better suited to traders with some background knowledge, while first-time traders may require a more structured educational offering that lets them track their progress.

The Bottom Line

OneRoyal is an Aussie forex and CFD broker that has been around since 2006. It offers over 2,000 CFD instruments on MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.

The broker’s fees were mixed in my testing. I observed some pretty fair conditions, such as the $23.6 trade cost on the DAX 40, but there was also the massive $76 trade cost on TSLA. And while Bitcoin prices were competitive on both Classic and ECN accounts, FX and commodity spreads gravitated around the industry average.

The broker punches above its weight with world-class market research, including actionable trading signals from Acuity, detailed technical reviews from Autochartist, a variety of market screeners, and the broker’s own research content.

Other strong points of OneRoyal include its reliable customer support and free deposits and withdrawals. The broker even reimburses you for any third-party processing fees.

I also found out that OneRoyal provides VPS hosting for low-latency trading, supports copy trading on MT4 and MT5, and provides PAMM/MAM accounts for managed trading. However, there are no alternative trading platforms, and I’d appreciate it if OneRoyal develops structured educational courses and ebooks for beginners.

I deem OneRoyal an excellent choice for news and day traders seeking actionable trading signals and a traditional platform setup. I also found it a great fit for account managers.

What I Did not Test

Please note that for this review of OneRoyal, I did not:

  1. Use a live account to test OneRoyal’s order execution speeds;
  2. Upload proof of ID and proof of address to fully verify my OneRoyal live accounts;
  3. Deposit or withdraw real capital into or from OneRoyal. My score for the Deposits and Withdrawals category is based on my assessment of the broker’s payment options and listed fees.
