Key Points:

  • Bitcoin has rallied by more than 23% in the past 7 days after the release of the SEC’s new crypto rules.
  • BTC ETFs brought in $1.6 billion in just 4 days while short liquidations surpassed $4.4 billion in just three days.
  • Bitcoin could rally to $100K easily if it breaks past the $80,000 resistance, while a long-term target of $200K in the next bullish cycle seems plausible.
In this article:

Bitcoin (BTC) has gone up by more than 8% in the past 24 hours and has rallied from $62,000 to $77,000 in just 5 days after a series of developments triggered a massive short squeeze across the crypto market.

Short liquidations in the past 24 hours alone surged to $1.2 billion and are now amounting to more than $4.4 billion, most of which came from blown-up BTC shorts.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced a couple of days ago a series of rules for the crypto market that front-run the approval of the Clarity Act. This move reassured the market that the current administration will do its best to support the sector’s growth.

Moreover, President Donald Trump met with crypto executives at the White House and reiterated his commitment to push this key piece of legislation until it makes its way to his desk — ideally, this year.

Bitcoin ETFs Bring In $1.6 Billion in Just 4 Days

Market participants reacted quite positively and fully ignored yesterday’s hawkish comments found in the last FOMC minutes.

BTC has now booked a 24% gain in the past 7 days alone, and broke past multiple resistances that we had set forth as short-term targets for the top crypto in previous Bitcoin price prediction articles.

One of the most relevant price zones this rally managed to overcome was the $72,000 mark — the level at which the 200-day exponential moving average (EMA) currently sits.

This is the first time that BTC is trading above this technical indicator since November 2025, and it could mark the beginning of the next bull market.

Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) linked to BTC have experienced strong daily inflows in the past few sessions, with investors already pouring over $1.6 billion into these vehicles as a result of the rally.

Monthly net inflows have now surpassed the $2 billion mark — the highest monthly intake since October 2025.

Bitcoin Could Easily Rally to $100K If This Key Level is Broken

Turning to the weekly chart, our recent $75K target for BTC has already been hit, while a long-dated buy signal in this higher time frame is about to be fully confirmed, and this could set the stage for a massive rally toward the $200,000 area in the long term.

The price action is coming off the $60,000 area and has formed a bullish W-shaped pattern that will be fully confirmed if BTC breaks past the $80,000 level.

If that’s the case, the $100,000 psychological threshold should be the first target for Bitcoin in the mid-term. The crypto market seems to be fully pricing in the approval of the Clarity Act already, and that’s what’s driving the rally.

The magnitude of this short squeeze should be large enough to push bears out for a while. Now, the futures market needs to react with increased bullish positioning. If that’s the case, the stage would be set for the continuation of this uptrend to that $100K target.

That said, a pullback in the near term would be plausible, as the daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) just hit 85. The 200-day EMA should act as support if that happens, and late buyers may wait for that to happen to get into this rally at a more reasonable price level.
