Litecoin (LTC) may be setting up one of the clearest bull cases among major cryptocurrencies, according to analyst Eric Van Tassell.
In a Dec. 3 post, Van Tassell stated that Litecoin has spent more than six years moving sideways within a large chart pattern known as a symmetrical triangle.
These long “coiling” phases often reduce volatility and build pressure for a big move once the price breaks out.
Unlike many top cryptocurrencies that have already rallied sharply, Litecoin remains trading near the lower end of its long-term pattern. That reduces the risk for new buyers, as major support remains nearby.
Historically, Litecoin also tends to perform later in market cycles, Van Tassell argues. After early leaders like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) cool off, traders often rotate into lagging large-cap tokens with cleaner structures.
XRP (XRP) is a recent example, presenting a late-cycle breakout in November 2024.
“Litecoin’s risk/reward is one of the best among large caps,” Van Tassell said.
From a technical perspective, a sustained breakout above the psychological $100 level would be a key signal, Van Tassel said, with his chart presenting upside targets around $138, then $176, and $224.
Should LTC repeat XRP’s symmetrical triangle breakout, it may rally to as far as $1,500 in the long run, as shown below.
Litecoin achieved several major fundamental milestones in 2025, which strengthened its long-term narrative beyond short-term price fluctuations.
Institutional interest remained a focus despite mixed demand for ETF. CoinShares withdrew its US spot ETF filings for Litecoin, but Canary Capital’s Litecoin ETF remained active, marking Litecoin’s inclusion in the first wave of approved crypto ETFs alongside Solana and Hedera.
Corporate adoption reached a milestone when Lite Lite Strategy launched a $100 million Litecoin treasury strategy, becoming the first publicly traded company in the US to hold LTC as a primary reserve asset.
Integration with Near Protocol’s Intents framework expanded Litecoin’s crosschain utility, while Telegram support enabled direct LTC transactions, boosting accessibility and real-world usage.
Together, these developments positioned Litecoin as one of the most institutionally credible and operationally active legacy blockchains in 2025.
