Former Support Turns Into Resistance
Silver remained under pressure at the start of the week, as it consolidated on Monday within Friday’s range. Monday marked the second consecutive day silver remained below the prior low of $54.78, following a bearish continuation signal on Friday. Friday’s close of $53.90 confirmed the signal, while the day’s high reinforced the former low as a resistance area. Monday’s high provided further confirmation. Moreover, the highs of the past two days identified resistance near the lower boundary of a falling channel, confirming the shift from support to resistance.

$58.59 Moving Average Defines Bounce Potential
This is short-term bearish behavior suggesting further downside in the near term unless silver can sustain an advance above Friday’s high of $54.75. That could lead to a bounce to test resistance near the 20-day moving average. The average is currently near $58.59 and falling below the midline of a falling channel, further highlighting bearish momentum and the possibility of testing lower support levels. A minor lower swing high at $58.61 may also act as resistance.

$48.29 Fibonacci Support Enters Focus
The latest low in the decline from the January peak of $121.67 followed the establishment of a lower swing high at $71.18, which successfully tested resistance near the 200-day moving average. Once that test was complete, sellers took back control, resulting in the new low.
The decline has brought silver into a consolidation range established in late 2025, extending from $54.49 to the higher swing low of $45.55 from October 2025. Although support may hold anywhere within the range, the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement of the entire advance from the April 2025 low is $48.29 and it offers a potentially significant support level. The lower boundary of a large falling channel also points to a potential target area near the Fibonacci level.
Oversold Bounce or Deeper Correction
For now, short-term oversold conditions could lead to a bounce within the larger bearish trend structure. However, given the recent bearish signals and their confirmation, sellers remain in control and rallies will likely face selling pressure that limits their upside. Initially, silver’s reaction to resistance near the 20-day moving average should provide an important clue about whether short-term momentum is beginning to change. Until then, the bearish structure remains intact, with the potential for a deeper correction toward the lower end of the consolidation range and confluence of longer-term support levels.
