The annual inflation rate in Albania eased to 2.3% in August 2025 from 2.5% in July, driven by slower price growth in food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.5% vs 3.2% in July), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.3% vs 3.4%), clothing & footwear (0.6% vs 0.9%), communication (1.2% vs 1.5%), and recreation & culture (6.3% vs 7.7%). In contrast, prices rebounded in transport (0.5% vs -0.4%), while costs increased faster in housing & utilities (3.1% vs 3.0%) and hotels, coffee-houses, and restaurants (2.2% vs 2.0%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.3% in August, reversing a 0.1% decline in July.
