The annual inflation rate in Austria stood at 4% in November 2025, slightly below preliminary estimates and unchanged from the previous two months. The strongest price driver continued to be housing and utilities, which remained at 6.6%, driven mainly by higher costs of electricity, gas and other fuels, followed by restaurants and hotels (5.9% vs 6% in October), food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.6% vs 4%), health (5.3% vs 5%), and education (4.5% vs 5.2%). On the other hand, costs continued to decline for communication (-5.7% vs -6.4%), while deflation remained unchanged for furnishings, household equipment, and maintenance (at -0.6%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.3% in November, slowing from a 0.4% increase in the preceding period.
