Consumer prices in Bahrain fell by 1% year-on-year in May 2025, following a 0.5% drop in the previous month. This marked the second consecutive month of deflation and the lowest reading since May 2023, driven by lower prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-9% vs -4.2% in April), furniture and furnishings (-7.4% vs -6.7%), and clothing and footwear (-3.1% vs -2.7%). Conversely, prices rose for health (6% vs 5.9%), communication (3.4% vs 2.9%), and transport (3% vs 2.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped by 0.5%, following a 0.3% decrease in the prior month.
