Belgium’s annual inflation eased to 1.92% in July 2025 from 2.15% in the previous month, marking its lowest level since January 2024. The slowdown was driven by softer price increases in most categories, specifically in food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.10% vs. 3.35% in June), housing and utilities (2.77% vs. 3.01%), restaurants and hotels (4.29% vs. 4.31%), miscellaneous goods and services (3.14% vs. 3.09%), and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.32% vs. 6.04%). Meanwhile, deeper deflation was recorded in transport (-0.35% vs. -0.02%), while clothing and footwear deflation remained steady at -2.96%. In contrast, prices rebounded in communication (0.64% vs. -0.06%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.49% in July, up from a 0.35% increase in June.
