Latest Updates

Colombia's GDP grew by 2.7% in March 2025 compared to the same month the previous year, up from 2.3% in February and above expectations of 2.5%. This was the fastest annual rate of expansion in two years. The result was driven by a 7.1% increase in agricultural production, fueled by record coffee prices following prolonged droughts in Brazil and Vietnam—Colombia’s main competitors. In contrast, the oil and mining sectors declined by 5%, which limited further growth. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the economy expanded 0.8% from the previous quarter. Despite the strong performance, the economy remains sensitive to external conditions, particularly demand from the US, its main trading partner, and the indirect effects of the tariff war with China.
