The average real monthly wages in the Czech Republic rose by 3.9% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, slowing from a 4.2% growth in the previous three-month period and missing market forecasts of a 4.0% increase. This marked the fifth consecutive quarter of real wage increases, albeit at the slowest pace in the sequence. The average gross monthly nominal wage in the national economy was CZK 46,924, representing a 6.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024, though slightly lower than the 7.2% growth seen in the previous period. On a quarterly basis, the seasonally adjusted average wages went up by 1.7%. The highest average wage increases were in real estate (12.4%), professional and technical activities (10.9%), and construction (10.3%), while the lowest were in mining (3.1%) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (3.3%).
