The unemployment rate in Hungary stood at 4.6% in August-October 2025, unchanged from the corresponding period a year ago. The number of unemployed individuals decreased by 2.6 thousand from a year earlier to 223 thousand. Of this total, 119 thousand were men, with their unemployment rate up to 4.6%, while 104 thousand were women and their unemployment rate was 4.5%. The average time spent looking for a job was 12 months. Among the unemployed, 44.9% had been seeking work for less than 3 months, while 32.6% had been looking for at least a year. Meanwhile, the number of employed persons declined by 30.9 thousand to 4,672.2 million. Employment among the men fell by 24.1 thousand to 2,466.8 million, while employment among women decreased by 6.8 thousand to 2,205.4 million.
