Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages in Ireland surged by 10.6 percent year-on-year in October of 2022, the sharpest increase in 38 years and picking up from the 9.9 percent rise in the prior month. The rise was the most pronounced for oils and fats (25.3 percent), milk, cheese, and eggs (17.9 percent), sugar (15.3 percent), meats (13.1 percent), and bread and cereals (12.1 percent). On a monthly basis, costs rose by 1 percent.
