Kosovo’s annual inflation rate accelerated to 3.6% in May 2025 from 3% in April, marking the fastest pace since September 2023. The increase was primarily driven by a sharp rise in electricity prices (10.2% vs 8.2%) and food and non-alcoholic beverages (8.2% vs 7%), with notable gains in meat (11.8%), fruits (12.8%), oils and fats (11.2%), and coffee, tea, and cocoa (15.5%). Inflation also picked up for housing and utilities (2.7% vs 2.3%) and for restaurants and hotels (6.7% vs 6.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.3%, following a 0.2% increase in April.
