In Kyrgyzstan, the main components of the consumer price index are: food and non-alcoholic beverages (46.7 percent of the total weight); clothing and footwear (14.1 percent) and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (12 percent). Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels account for 8.2 percent; transport and communications for 5.8 percent and household appliances and equipment for 3.8 percent. Others include: miscellaneous goods and services (2.9 percent); health care and education (2.5 percent); restaurants and hotels (2.4 percent) and leisure and culture (1.4 percent). The CPI reflects the prices and spending patterns registered in the 8 main urban areas of the country.

Kyrgyzstan’s annual inflation rate stood at 8% in June 2025, unchanged from the previous month. The reading remained at its highest level since November 2023, as prices rose faster for food and non-alcoholic beverages (10.2% vs 10.1% in May), housing and utilities (14.1% vs 13.8%), health (7.6% vs 7.3%), transport (2.4% vs 2.1%), and miscellaneous goods and services (2.4% vs 2.3%). Meanwhile, inflation slowed for recreation and culture (5.4% vs 6.2%), clothing and footwear (2.1% vs 2.2%), and education (24.4% vs 24.5%), while communication prices declined by 0.1%, the same rate as in May. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.7%, easing from a 1.1% increase in the prior period.
