The Netherlands’ seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 3.8% in June 2025, unchanged for the fourth consecutive month. The number of unemployed individuals rose by 2,000 month-on-month to 388,000, while employment increased by 8,000 to 9.840 million. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate edged up to 76.2% in July 2025 from 76.1% in the preceding month. During the period, the number of unemployment benefits grew by 4,100 to 187,700, with the largest increases seen in education (+14.3%), healthcare and welfare (+2.8%), the chemical industry (+2.8%), other industries (+2.7%), and banking and insurance (+2.6%). Compared to a year earlier, the jobless rate was 0.2 percentage points higher than the 3.6% recorded in July 2024.
