The Netherlands’ seasonally adjusted unemployment rate edged lower to 3.8% in April 2025 from 3.9% in the previous month. The number of unemployed individuals decreased by 8 thousand from a month earlier to 387 thousand, while employment increased by 8 thousand to 9.824 million. The labor force participation rate ticked higher to 76.1% from 76% in each of the previous three months. During the period, 184 thousand people received unemployment benefits. In April 2024, the jobless rate was 0.1 percentage points lower to 3.7%.
