Uruguay's annual inflation rate eased to 5.36% in April 2025, down from 5.67% in March. Price growth slowed notably in several categories, including food and non-alcoholic beverages (5.57% vs. 6.32%), transportation (5.43% vs. 6.46%), restaurants and food services (6.56% vs. 6.98%), and housing and utilities (4.11% vs. 4.18%). Additionally, deflation in clothing and footwear moderated, with prices falling 0.99% compared to a 1.35% drop in the previous month. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.23%, a deceleration from the 0.57% increase recorded in March.
