Key Insights:

  • Heroes of Mavia announced a collaboration with Tribe Gaming.
  • The recent foray of mainstream media into crypto has invoked interest in blockchain gaming.
  • Tribe Gaming acquired dozens of islands in the game, which will be used for Tribe’s branding.

The world is witnessing crypto and blockchain adoption growing every day. With partnerships in sports, music, fashion, and branding, every mainstream industry is joining this world.

Thus, with Gaming already having established a footing in this space, it isn’t surprising that mainstream gamers are also entering it now.

Tribe Comes to Blockchain

Heroes of Mavia (HoM), known to be a blockchain-based play-to-earn massively multiplayer online (MMO) strategy game, announced the collaboration today.

Bringing Tribe Gaming onboard is an opportunity for the game to be visible among traditional gamers as well.

Tribe Gaming has been a leader in the gaming industry. Founded in 2017, the esports organization has established a significant presence among the gaming community through YouTube and other social media platforms.

With Tribe Gaming being the winner of the 2021 Call of Duty: Mobile Championship, Heroes of Mavia has the opportunity to reach over 29 million people through them.

Commenting on the collaboration, Founder and CEO of Tribe Gaming, Patrick Carney, said,

“At Tribe, we’ve been carefully examining the right P2E project to integrate Tribe IP inside of, and collaborating with Mavia is an exciting opportunity. We’re bullish on the future of the project, and we’re looking forward to seeing the continued development of Mavia as the game gets closer to launch.”

As per the terms of the collaboration, Tribe Gaming has obtained multiple Legendary plots of land within the fantasy island of the game. On these lands, Tribe’s branding will uniquely appear in the game.

At the same time, the Binance Labs and Crypto.com backed Mavia will cement its position as ‘the largest esports-focused P2E game in the space’. Adding to the same, Yvan Feusi, Executive Producer at Skrice Studios (makers of HoM), stated,

“As we continue to push our game further into the space of competitive Gaming and esports, it is essential that we work closely with seasoned veterans of this space. Not only does Tribe have the biggest content creators in the mobile gaming space, but they also have the experience and aptitude to help Mavia develop its potential to become a blockbuster blockchain gaming title.”

Gaming in the Crypto Space

As mentioned above, the gaming industry has flourished with every passing day in the blockchain space. Companies, players, and investors alike are building themselves up to acquire a slice of this pie.

Recently, in an exclusive research report provided to FXEmpire from BDC Consulting, it was highlighted that Gaming is one of the key interests when it comes to crypto investors.

Furthermore, a report from Newzoo highlighted that play-to-earn games would be a major highlight in 2022.

And with the likes of cryptocurrency exchange FTX partnering with WB Games’ Executive to launch FTX Gaming, both the blockchain and the Gaming industry have an opportunity to grow further this year.
