PARIS (Reuters) – French fashion company SMCP named Charlotte Tasset Ferrec as the chief executive officer of its Maje brand, recruiting the former head of high end fashion brand Nina Ricci to run its second-largest label.
The appointment comes as a group of bondholders that recently became the top shareholder of SMCP, following the default on a bond of its previous Chinese owner, have called for changes on the board of SMCP and have said they want to sell their stake to a third party.
Charlotte Tasset Ferrec, 48, joins Maje as CEO after three years within the Puig Group as CEO of Nina Ricci Fashion and Perfume, and SMCP said that her time there had led to a turnaround in the brand’s business and profitability.
Prior to this, she spent 15 years in retail, including 9 years at Printemps as Chief Merchandising Officer.
