Trezor launches the Safe 7, a quantum-ready hardware wallet redefining open-source security, transparency, and true crypto self-custody.
Prague, October 21, 2025 — FXEmpire attended Trustless by Design, Trezor’s launch event in Prague, where the hardware wallet pioneer revealed the Trezor Safe 7. About 200 guests from crypto exchanges, wallet providers, Web3 startups, and media gathered to see what Trezor called “a new standard for open, quantum-ready security.”
Trezor, the creator of the first hardware wallet in 2013, presented Safe 7 as a major step forward in digital self-custody. CEO Matěj Žák said the launch comes at a time when many users are turning to custodians and ETFs:
“It’s more important than ever to reinforce what self-custody really means – full control without compromise. Trezor Safe 7 reflects everything we stand for: transparency, usability, and long-term trust.”

CTO Tomáš Sušanka noted that quantum computing, once theoretical, is becoming a real concern for blockchain security:
“Within the next decade, Bitcoin and other blockchains will move to post-quantum algorithms. Safe 7’s quantum-ready design ensures users can upgrade securely. It’s about protecting digital freedom for decades to come.”
The atmosphere at Trustless by Design was professional and engaging. Guests had the chance to try demo units, talk with Trezor’s engineers, and learn more about how the company approaches transparency and user control. FXEmpire joined other industry participants to see how the Safe 7 works in practice and what it could mean for the future of self-custody.
The Trezor Safe 7 is priced at $249 (€249) and available for pre-order on Trezor’s official website. Shipping begins in four weeks, with multiple color options including Charcoal Black and Obsidian Green. Early customers receive a Magnetic Qi2 wireless charger as a complimentary accessory.
