Analysis and Recommendations:
Natural Gas fell 6 points to trade at 3.705 down by 6 points as demand drifted and inventory grows. Milder temperatures are reducing demand for energy product. Natural gas continues to trade near 2014 lows as mild weather is likely to curb heating demand for fuel during the peak season of winter. Weather forecasts for the next two weeks are predicting above-normal temperatures across the Central and Eastern U.S.
“A burst of warming into the Midwest and East late this weekend into the first half of next week looks a bit stronger again today,” said forecaster Commodity Weather Group LLC in a note Tuesday.
Cold temperatures boost demand for natural gas, which half of all American households use as a primary heating fuel. Prices are down for a sixth straight day on signs that warmer weather could limit natural-gas usage this month.
However, traders are still waiting to see how cold the winter will be. Last winter, sustained lower-than-average temperatures prompted record-high demand for natural gas.
