Natural Gas Price Forecast – Natural Gas Markets Tumbled Despite Hot Weather

Natural gas markets have tumbled a bit during the trading session on Monday, as we continue to see a lot of noisy behavior. At this juncture, it looks as if the market is simply going to go back and forth and it looks like we are trying to see a lot of volatility, with the $8.00 level underneath offering a significant amount of support. Alternately, the $9.50 level offers a significant amount of resistance, and I think we are just bouncing around in this general vicinity. That being said, natural gas continues to see a lot of noise from outside of the United States, specifically in Europe.

Looking at this chart, the 50 Day EMA is sitting at the $7.75 level and is rising to get near the $8.00 level before it’s all said and done. I am using the 50 Day EMA as a potential dynamic support level that we should be paying close attention to. If we can break it down below there, then it’s likely that we would see further downward pressure.

On the other hand, if we were to turn around and show signs of life, it’s likely that we would see an attempt to break out. If we can break out above the top of the consolidation range, then I think it makes quite a bit of sense that we would see the $10.00 level tested as a potential target and resistance barrier I would consider a lot of noisy behavior being the norm these days, as we are at such extremes at this point.
