The annual inflation rate in Belarus accelerated to 7.1% year on year in May 2025, the highest since February 2023, compared to 6.5% in May. The increase was largely driven by higher prices for food, which rose 9.6% compared to 8.3% in April, and services, which climbed 7.2% from 7.0%. In contrast, the cost of non-food goods held steady, with annual growth unchanged at 3.6%. Compared to the previous month, the CPI rose by 0.7%, slowing from the 1.0% increase recorded in April.
