Chile's economy relies heavily on exports of copper (48 percent of total sales) and the state owned firm CODELCO, which is the world's currently largest copper producer in the world. Manufactured products account for 38 percent of total exports and include processed food, namely salmon; chemicals; cellulose & paper; forestry & wood products; and metals, machinery & equipment. The country also exports fresh fruit and wine. Main export partners are: China (32 percent of total sales), the United States (14 percent), Japan (9 percent), South Korea (7 percent) and Brazil (5 percent). Others include: Peru, the Netherlands, Taiwan and Mexico.
