Consumer prices in El Salvador decreased by 0.11% year-over-year in April 2025, after edging up 0.14% in March. downward price pressures came from transport (-5.53% vs -1.58% in March), household equipment (-1.75% vs -1.67%), clothing and footwear (-0.65% vs -0.52%), and healthcare (1.83% vs 2.02%). Meanwhile, upward pressures were seen in housing and utilities (2.31% vs 2.23%), restaurants and hotels (3.49% vs 3.25%), and communication (-0.70% vs -0.75%). Food and alcoholic beverages declined for the seventh consecutive month (-0.63% vs -0.98%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged marginally higher by 0.03% in April, reversing a 0.14% increase in March.
