The unemployment rate in Morocco declined to 13.3% in Q1 of 2025, down from 13.7% in the same period of the previous year, as the number of unemployed decreased by 15 thousand to 1.630 million and the number of employed increased by 282 thousand to 10.619 million. Meanwhile, the workforce climbed by 266 thousand to 12.249 million. The unemployment rate among young people rose to 37.7% from 35.9%, while it dropped to 19.4% from 20.3% among graduates and edged up to 18.5% from 18.3% among women. Among the employed, the service sector created 216,000 new jobs, the industrial sector added 83,000, and the construction sector contributed 52,000 jobs. Meanwhile, the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sectors saw a decline of 72,000 jobs.
