Panama Leading Economic Index

In Panama, the Monthly Economic Activity Index - IMAE - estimates the activity of the different economic sectors in a given month, anticipating future movements in GDP. It aggregates the 14 different sectors included in the GDP calculation: agriculture, livestock, hunting and forestry; fishing; mining and quarrying; manufacturing; electricity and water supply; construction; wholesale and retail trade; hotels and restaurants; transport, storage, and communications; financial services; real estate; education; health and social services and public administration. The index has a base value of 100 as of 1996. .
