The cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages in Serbia rose by 22.5 percent in November of 2022, easing slightly from the 14-year high of 22.9 percent in the prior month and decelerating for the first time since June of 2021. While remaining high, food inflation slowed for vegetables (17.8 percent vs 22.3 percent in October), bread and cereals (19.9 percent vs 23.5 percent), and coffee and tea (16.9 percent vs 21.8 percent). On the other hand, costs continued to accelerate for meat (19.4 percent vs 19.3 percent) and milk, cheese, and eggs (43.1 percent vs 39.6 percent). On a monthly basis, food prices rose by 1.2 percent, easing from the 3.5 percent jump in the prior month.
