Crude oil inventories in the US rose by 3.889 million barrels in the week ended September 27, 2024, compared with market expectations of a 1.3 million fall, data from the EIA Petroleum Status Report showed. Also, crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub went up by 0.840 million barrels, and gasoline stocks increased by 1.119 million, against forecasts of a 0.1 million fall. Distillate stockpiles, which include diesel and heating oil, went down by 1.284 million barrels, below the consensus of a 1.5 million drop.
