China GDP Data Hits Target and Calm Markets

Gross Domestic Product numbers from China hit their target this morning. Asian stocks are trading mostly higher.

Inflation data will come from the U.K today. And Deutsche Bank has been asked to run a huge stress test the next few months from the ECB.

China Growth Numbers Meet Estimates, Trading Quiet and Flat in Asia

Gross Domestic Product numbers from China met their estimated gain of 6.8% head on this morning. However, Industrial Production numbers did come in slightly below their estimates. The Hang Seng has been relatively flat, but the Shanghai Shenzhen has lost fractional ground so far today. Japanese equities have also held their ground with tranquil results. Wall Street produced gains to open the week, as quarterly earnings season started to build steam. Core Retail Sales met their target yesterday, and today Building Permits data will come from the States.

Pound Remains Strong in Forex, Deutsche Bank Suspicions Raised

The U.S lost ground in forex on Monday, and the Pound continued to display robust strength. The U.K will release important employment and wage statistics this morning. The British currency is above the 1.43 level versus the U.S Dollar. The Euro played catch up yesterday and is around 1.2385 against the U.S Dollar this morning. And traders should keep in mind the European Central Bank has asked Deutsche Bank to run a mammoth Stress Test over the next couple of months, which raises suspicions the giant German bank is being watched closely.

Gold Remains below Solid Resistance, Polite & Prudent Range for Gold

Gold produced a prudent range on Monday as it came off highs, but then began to stabilize. The commodity is near 1345.00 U.S Dollars an ounce and remains within the stronger realms of its mid-term value, but Gold is below solid resistance around the 1355.00 juncture.

Wage Numbers from U.K will Impact FX, Housing Data from States

The U.K will issue its Average Earnings Index figures at 8:30 GMT and the results will impact forex traders.

  • 9:00 AM GMT, Germany, ZEW Economic Sentiment
  • 12:30 PM GMT, U.S, Building Permits
