BERLIN (Reuters) – Germany’s economy minister said that easing gas prices give hope that a recession threatening Europe, and Germany, can be managed and even reduced, and underscored the need to establish more critical infrastructure to create a more resilient economy.

“It was Europe that paid the price for German dependency on Russian gas and therefore an obligation arises that Germany has to contribute to Europe’s growth,” he said at a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Tuesday.
