US Futures Set to Open Higher, Dow Aims 26,000 for the First Time

The U.S Dollar remains near 4-month lows in forex. Wall Street is being called to open higher via trading in the Futures Markets.

Inflation data via the CPI in the U.K met its target. While Japanese Industrial numbers produced a better outcome than expected.

Major Indexes Expected to Open Strong, U.S Dollar near 4 Month Lows

The Dow Jones Industrials, S&P, and NASDAQ are all expected to open with gains when U.S markets reopen for business after their long holiday weekend. The three major indexes achieved new highs on Friday, and it appears investor sentiment will remain bullish early. The U.S Dollar continues to be weak in forex as it tests four-month lows against most of the major currencies.

Japan Data Helping Yen Gain, Nikkei Produces More Buying

Industrial Activity figures from Japan this morning were stronger than expected. The Yen has added value against the U.S Dollar and is near 110.65, as investors react to the Bank of Japan’s encouraging words about better inflation results. The Nikkei Index added a full percent of gains today. Machine orders statistics will come from Japan tomorrow, and on Thursday Gross Domestic Product results will come from China.

U.K Inflation Data Hits Target via CPI, Euro & Pound Remain Calm

Consumer Price Index data from the U.K met its target a little while ago, while other inflation data was essentially mixed. However, the Home Price Index reading did show a strong jump to 5.1% for the past year. Tomorrow the European Union will release its own inflation numbers. The Pound and Euro have maintained their higher values against the U.S Dollar so far today.

Downward Pressure for Gold Early, Profit Taking as Traders Cash Out

Gold has experienced some downward pressure this morning as profit takers cash out winning positions. The precious metal is near 1336.00 U.S Dollars an ounce and is certain to remain a fast market, as U.S traders return after their long holiday weekend.

Manufacturing Data from New York Region, U.K Leading Indicators Reading

The Empire State Manufacturing Index from the States will get attention upon its release at 13:30 GMT.
