About
Rob Isbitts, an investment “lifer,” first learned to invest from his late father, a self-directed investor, charting stocks with graph paper and a pencil, when he was 16 years old. Decades later, Rob retired from the investment firm he ran with his wife, following a career that included stints as mutual fund manager, book author, and Chief Investment Strategist. Rob is battle-tested, having survived 7 bear markets as far back as the 1987 Crash. He has created a wide range of intellectual property including the Sungarden ROAR Score, the YARP Dividend Factor and a range of portfolio construction tools for investors.
He is an investment myth-buster and blunt truth-teller, and is a frequent podcast guest and speaker at Seeking Alpha and the Money Show. He’s written more than 1,000 investing articles across multiple platforms, and delights in serving as a mentor to upwardly-mobile next-generation investors, analysts and writers.
Rob’s firm, Sungarden, was named in honor of the US state where he’s lived for many years (Florida, the Sunshine State) and the state he grew up in (New Jersey, the Garden State). He and Dana are happy parents of 3 adult children, 3 grand-cats, and a few thoroughbred race horses.
