EUR/GBP Fundamental Analysis February 1, 2013 Forecast

Analysis and Recommendations:

The EUR/GBP  is trading at 0.8564 off by 22pips today. There was little in the way of supportive data for GPB today except comments from Bank of England governor Sir Mervyn King who has raised concerns that without an agreement on the need to work together to help rebalance the world economy, 2013 will see “the growth of actively managed exchange rates as an alternative to the use of domestic monetary policy”.

In the zone eco data was supportive with German unemployment numbers printing on the positive side but a disappointing CPI print weighed on the euro. With the poor CPI and Spanish economic woes weighting on the euro the pound was able to gain some footing today
