The EUR/GBP added 6 points as both currencies traded on a weak noted against the stronger US dollar. The pair is trading at 0.7067. In an address to the European Parliament Draghi said inflation dynamics had somewhat weakened and that a “sustained normalization” of inflation could take longer to achieve than thought. : The head of the European Central Bank underscored on Thursday the bank’s readiness to extend money printing, warning that a key measure of economic health – price inflation – was flagging.

Sterling drifted back towards six-month lows against the dollar as traders refocused on the risks posed by a looming referendum on Britain’s membership of the European Union. British Prime Minister David Cameron will say in a letter to the European Council president on Tuesday that his demands for EU reform are not “Mission Impossible” but rather the price leaders must pay if he is to keep Britain in the bloc.
