EUR/JPY Fundamental Analysis – November 11, 2015 – Forecast

Analysis and Recommendations:

The EUR/JPY dipped 8 points as the euro weakened after comments from Mario Draghi late in the session Monday. Japanese data was mixed but overall on the lackluster side.  Current Account narrowed more than expected. Chinese inflation missed expectations weighing on the morning session.   Japan posted a current account surplus for the 15th straight month in September as the trade balance swung to a surplus, Ministry of Finance data showed on Tuesday.

The current account surplus stood at 1.47 trillion yen ($11.95 billion), up from a 978.0 billion yen surplus in September last year. The median forecast was for 2.2 trillion yen.

The euro erased an advances amid speculation the European Central Bank is moving closer toward cutting its deposit rate when it meets next month. The 19-nation currency traded near its weakest level since April after Reuters reported that a consensus is forming around cutting the deposit rate in December, citing four unidentified members of the ECB Governing Council.
