Communication, Health, Recreation & Culture and Education account for the remaining 4.1 percent of total weight.

The annual inflation rate in Ethiopia slowed to 13.9% in June 2025 from 14.4% in each of the previous two months. Prices growth moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages, easing to 11.7% from 12.1% in May, with inflation particularly slowing for other food products (18.8% vs 20.2%), while bread and cereals stalled after a 1.3% rise. Additionally, costs increased at a softer pace for housing and utilities (18.4% vs 18.8%), clothing and footwear (13.8% vs 16.3%), restaurants and hotels (17.2% vs 18.3%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (13.9% vs. 14.7%), and furnishings and household maintenance (13.7% vs. 14.9%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices grew by 0.5% in June, following a 0.2% gain in May.
