Increases were seen in services (1.1% vs. 1.6% in July), electricity, water, and gas (2.6% vs. 3.9%), and agricultural, forestry, and marine products (3.9% vs. 5.8%), while manufacturing costs declined at a slower pace (-0.2% vs. -1%), pressured by US tariffs on steel and aluminum. On a monthly basis, producer prices slipped 0.1% in August after a 0.4% rise in July, reflecting mixed trends across sectors.
