In Taiwan, Foreign Exchange Reserves are the foreign assets held or controlled by the country central bank. The reserves are made of gold or a specific currency. They can also be special drawing rights and marketable securities denominated in foreign currencies like treasury bills, government bonds, corporate bonds and equities and foreign currency loans.
Latest Updates
Taiwan’s foreign exchange reserves fell to USD 599.79 billion in November 2025, down from USD 600.2 billion in October. The dip was driven by returns from foreign exchange reserve management, exchange rate movements of major currencies against the USD, and central bank interventions to maintain an orderly foreign exchange market. For comparison, reserves stood at USD 577.9 billion in November 2024.
