In Tunisia, the three main components of the consumer price index are: Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (26.2 percent of total weight); Housing and Utilities (19 percent) and Transport (12.7 percent). Others include: Clothing and Footwear (7.4 percent); Household Contents, Equipment and Maintenance (5.9 percent); Health (5.8 percent) and Miscellaneous Goods and Services (5.6 percent). Restaurants and Hotels, Communication, Education, Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco and Recreation and Culture account for the remaining 17.3 percent of total weight.

Tunisia's annual inflation rate edged down to 5.3% in July 2025, the lowest since May 2021, from 5.4% previously, mainly due to a slowdown in prices of food & non-alcoholic beverages (5.9% vs 6.4% in June). Softer increases were also seen for other CPI items, namely clothing & footwear (9.1% vs 9.3%); furnishings & household equipment (5.2% vs 5.4%) and recreation & culture (5.9% vs 6%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.3% in July, after a 0.4% increase in the prior month.
