Wall Street put in solid gains on Tuesday as news swirled about a potential tax reform agreement in the U.S Senate. The U.K and E.U may be close to a financial deal regarding the Brexit. The Pound has been strong. North Korea test-fired a missile late last night, but Asian markets have been calm.

Wall Street Springs to Life, Gross Domestic Product Numbers Today

Wall Street sprung to life on Tuesday with solid gains as news developed the U.S Senate may have resolved differences among its leaders regarding a tax package. However, a final tax reform agreement is not done yet. Data from the States was solid yesterday and today growth numbers will be published. Trading conditions on the three major Indexes may remain volatile as investors weigh their positions.

North Korea Doesn’t Shake Market, Cautious Gains for Japanese Equities

A test missile launch from North Korea late last night has not caused bedlam in the Asian markets. The Nikkei Index has made cautious gains, while profit-taking has been seen on the Shanghai Shenzhen composite. The Yen has been stable and is range trading near 111.50 against the U.S Dollar. Retail Sales figures from Japan came in below its expectation this morning.

Pound Gains on Brexit News, Investors Wager on Outcome of Summit

The U.K and the European Union may be close to agreeing on a Brexit divorce. A summit will take place starting on December 14th and indications are a financial settlement may be attained. The Pound gained yesterday and is well above the 1.33 level against the U.S Dollar. Net Lending to Individuals data will come from the U.K today. Bank of England Governor Mark Carney is also making an appearance today.

Resistance & Questions Ahead for Gold, Stable Increase in Value this Week

Gold has seen an increase and is trading near 1296.00 U.S Dollars an ounce. The precious metal has been pushed lower when it has approached the 1300.00 U.S Dollars juncture before, but speculators may believe Gold can finally surpass what has been tough resistance.

U.S Growth Numbers Today, Janet Yellen Testifying in Washington

Gross Domestic Product data will come from the States at 13:30 GMT and its result could impact trading.

  • 13:30 PM GMT U.S., Preliminary Gross Domestic Product
  • 15:00 PM GMT U.S., Federal Reserve Chairwoman Yellen Speaking
