Versus Trade is an upstart in the online trading industry, established in 2024 and headquartered in Saint Lucia. It gives access to 170+ tradable instruments via MetaTrader 5.
The broker offers a selection of 75 forex pairs and stands out with unique crosses like US100/WTI or Amazon/Alibaba. Its accounts require a low initial deposit of only $10 and feature a maximum leverage of 1:2000. There is also a Cent account for algo testing.
On the downside, Versus Trade is currently not regulated and does not provide any market research content or educational materials.
In my estimation, Versus Trade is a suitable choice for swing traders because of its favorable overnight fees and rare instrument crosses.

When reviewing a broker, we assess whether it suits different trading strategies and trader profiles. To achieve this, we evaluate the availability of the necessary features and tools. Here’s our verdict about Versus Trade:
Versus Trade allows swap-free trading on its Standard account across many popular assets, such as EURUSD, GBPJPY, XAUUSD, and others. Moreover, it offers cross-industry exposure with its unique pairs, such as Bitcoin/Gold.
Versus Trade offers $10 minimum deposit and generally competitive trading fees. However, the broker is not regulated, which lowers its overall trustworthiness.
Day traders can certainly benefit from Versus Trade’s competitive spreads, ranging from low to average on popular instruments I tested. MT5 is also a suitable platform for day trading. However, the broker lacks comprehensive market research.
Algo traders can fully automate their strategies on MT5 using Expert Advisors (EAs) and fine-tune them with the platform’s built-in strategy tester. And while Versus Trade does not provide Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting for low-latency trading, it does offer a Cent account suitable for algo testing.
The broker does not currently support social and copy trading.
Versus Trade’s order execution speed remains unclear. It also does not appear to operate on a ‘best execution’ basis, best execution referring to a legal mandate to provide optimal price quotes under the prevailing market conditions. MT5’s one-click trading is the only feature benefiting scalpers with the broker.
Versus Trade does not offer any market research, making it an unsuitable choice for news trading.
Versus Trade does not offer real stocks for value investing or portfolio building.
Versus Trade provides swap-free trading on its Standard account for several popular instruments—no need to open a separate Islamic account to use this feature. Additionally, the broker impresses with its unique crosses, such as Tesla and Ford or WTI and Bitcoin, allowing traders to exploit quite rare cross-industry correlations.
I opened a Standard trading account with the Versus Trade Ltd entity and performed my tests on the desktop and mobile versions of the MetaTrader 5 platform. Some features and services may vary depending on where you reside.

Versus Trade operates a single entity—Versus Trade Ltd—which is incorporated in Saint Lucia but not regulated. The broker guarantees the segregation of client funds and negative balance protection. I find Versus Trade quite transparent regarding its legal documents and the company’s background.

In our reviews, we examine the licenses and regulations of each entity operated by a broker, allowing us to compare their different levels of protection. We rank licenses by various regulatory bodies on a three-tier system, where Tier-1 licensing indicates the highest level of regulation.
This is what I discovered about the single entity operating under the Versus Trade trade name:
Brokers operate multiple entities globally, but regulatory protections vary. Some regulators enforce stricter financial standards than others, so traders should understand the safety measures of the entity with which they choose to open an account.
Here is what you need to be looking for in a broker in terms of safety mechanisms:
In our Trust category assessments, we evaluate factors tied to stability and transparency, including the broker’s longevity, company size, and information transparency.
Founded in 2024, Versus Trade is a newcomer to the trading industry. According to its LinkedIn page, the company employs fewer than 10 people.
I reviewed Versus Trade’s Client Agreement and found that everything was in order. My only gripe is that no live spread data is displayed on the broker’s website. Overall, I assess the broker’s transparency level as pretty decent.
Even though the broker is not licensed or regulated, I concluded that it is nominally safe to trade with because:
Versus Trade offers commission-based trading, with spreads that are generally on the lower end, often beating the industry average. Unlike many competitors, Versus Trade does not charge swap fees on popular instruments, making its pricing even more competitive. To top it off, the broker imposes no handling fees on deposits or withdrawals, and no inactivity fees on dormant accounts.
I tested Versus Trade’s spreads on 4 June 2025 during the London and New York opens. The results are shown in the table below:
Instrument | Live Spread AM | Live Spread PM | Industry Average |
EURUSD | 1.3 pips | 1.5 pips | 1.08 pips |
GBPJPY | 2.5 pips | 2.4 pips | 2.44 pips |
Gold (XAUUSD) | 18 pips | 18 pips | 23 pips |

Germany 40 | 2.5 basis points | 2.5 basis points | 2.4 basis points |
Bitcoin | $35 | $35 | $34 |
Live testing revealed that Versus Trade charges low spreads on share CFDs, low-to-average spreads on indices, average spreads on forex and crypto, and low-to-high spreads on commodities.
A swap fee is a trader’s cost for holding an open position overnight because of changing interest rates. Swap long refers to the charge deductible or credit receivable for holding a buy position open overnight. In turn, swap short relates to the charges/credits deductible or receivable for holding a selling position open overnight.
The values listed below are for one full base currency contract (100,000 units).
Instrument | Swap Long | Swap Short |
EURUSD | $0 | $0 |
GBPJPY | $0 | $0 |
Gold (XAUUSD) | $0 | $0 |
Versus Trade offers zero swaps on some of the most traded instruments. You can find a comprehensive list here.
Versus Trade does not impose any non-trading fees. Deposits and withdrawals are free of charge, though third-party processing fees may apply.
I also learned that an account is considered dormant after 90 calendar days of inactivity. However, the broker does not seem to charge such accounts with an inactivity fee.
I assessed that Versus Trade’s fees are highly competitive. Its spreads outperform the industry average, and most instruments are available for swap-free trading. Additionally, the broker supports commission-free trading on its Standard account.
Traders also benefit from the absence of non-trading charges. Deposits and withdrawals incur no handling fees, and dormant accounts are not subject to inactivity fees.
Versus Trade offers the renowned MetaTrader 5 platform, available for desktop, web, and mobile trading. MT5 is a fitting choice for traders with different backgrounds and experience levels. However, its layout may seem outdated compared to newer trading platforms.
Platform/Tool | Suitable For |
MetaTrader 5 | Basic technical analysis, simple order execution, automated trading |
MT5 App | Trading on the go |
I tested the desktop version of MetaTrader 5, one of the most popular platforms among retail traders. The charts, orders, and various instruments are located in easy-to-find places, and even first-time traders can quickly learn their way around. My only gripe with the platform is that its charts feel rugged and outdated compared to newer and sleeker trading software.
Versus Trade’s MT5 platform is available on Windows and Mac and supports 39 languages, including English, French, Spanish, German, Arabic, Chinese, and more.
MT5 features include:
In my opinion, MT5 is best suited for automated trading, which is available via Expert Advisors (EAs). The platform also has an intuitive strategy tester, allowing experienced algo traders to tweak the parameters of their strategies so that they can be used under different market conditions.
As shown above, MetaTrader’s charts can quickly become cluttered, even with just two indicators. This can obscure price action examination and make it harder to perform detailed technical analysis.
I have broken down the available analytical tools and chart configurations below:
The chart screen is undeniably one of the most crucial features of a trading platform. It equips traders with essential tools and configurations to analyze price action and spot trading opportunities. Just as important is the ability to easily scale price action, allowing for a clearer and more detailed view of market movements.
MetaTrader 5 features three types of order execution: market, pending, and one-click trading, which supports immediate entries at the spot price.
I have broken down the available order types on the MetaTrader 5 platform below:
MetaTrader 5 is a good option for fast and simple order execution. However, its dated and rugged design is inferior to newer and sleeker platforms. As a trader who prioritizes flexible charts that are easily scalable, I find MT5’s charting capabilities too rigid and less effective.
The MT5 mobile app is available on iOS and Android, enabling quick and easy access to the market on the go. It is very useful for opening, terminating, and adjusting open positions.
You can also use the app to place market, limit, and stop orders, as well as to adjust the exposure of your open trades.
The MetaTrader app stands out for its convenience, making it an essential tool for adjusting trades, especially during periods of heightened volatility. However, I consider it cumbersome and not the best choice for analyzing price action.
Versus Trade operates as principal to client orders, whereby it routes them to its pool of liquidity providers where they get filled at the best possible price.
Versus Trade provides 170+ tradable instruments across currency pairs, commodities, share CFDs, indices, and cryptocurrencies. It also offers several unique assets called Versus Pairs, which are crosses between popular assets.
Markets | Number | Types | Industry Average |
Forex Pairs | 75 | Major, Minor, and Exotic | 30 – 75 |
Commodities | 10 | Metals and Energies | 5 – 10 |

Indices | 15 | US, EU, Asia, Other | 5 – 10 |
Cryptocurrencies | 7 | Major and Minor | 10 – 20 |
Versus Pairs | 8 | Various | — |
Compared to the industry average, Versus Trade stands out with its wide selection of forex pairs. The number of indices is average, while the selection of share CFDs and cryptocurrencies could be broader.
Contracts for difference (CFDs) are derivatives that speculate on the underlying asset’s price without physical ownership.
For example, a long position on gold would generate profit as the price rises or incur a loss as it falls, all without the need to purchase actual gold bars.
One of the biggest advantages of trading CFDs is that traders can get in and out of the market almost instantaneously, thereby catching even minute changes in the price of the derivative.

Verus Trade’s tradable instruments offering is both wide and diverse. It includes some pretty rare instruments and markets, allowing traders to diversify their market exposure. My only gripe is the absence of low-risk securities, such as ETFs and bonds.
Versus Trade provides 24/7 customer support via live chat and email. Agents respond relatively quickly and appear quite knowledgeable. On the downside, there is no phone support, and the website’s FAQ section is very limited.

When we test a broker’s customer support, we evaluate the agent’s knowledge of their own website, how long it takes them to respond to questions, and how detailed their answers are.
I completed my test on 4 June at 15:49 CET via live chat. An agent connected within a minute and generally provided prompt and informative answers, though he seemed to struggle when I inquired about Versus Trade’s inactivity fee.

Versus Trade offers three retail spread-based accounts – Standard, Pro, and Cent. The minimum deposit is $10, and traders can use USD as a base currency. Shariah-compliant Islamic accounts are also available.
To open an account with Versus Trade, follow these simple steps:

Swap Free Account | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Demo Account | Yes | Yes | No |
*Round-turn per one full contract
The main difference between the Standard and Pro accounts is pricing. The Pro account offers slightly better trading conditions but requires a higher minimum deposit. However, it comes with a 30% margin call, which means there’s a higher risk during market volatility.
In contrast, the Cent account uses a smaller contract size of 10,000 units (compared to 100,000 units in the Standard and Pro accounts). This makes it a great option for beginner traders or those looking to test automated trading strategies with lower risk.
Versus Trade offers a demo account that introduces traders to the broker’s services and allows them to tweak their strategies in a risk-free environment. The market is continually evolving and never static, so it is important to hone your skills in a safe environment.
Versus Trade offers Islamic accounts for swap-free trading compatible with Shariah law.
Leverage determines a trader’s overall market exposure. When trading Contracts for Difference (CFDs), positions can be opened for a fraction of their value because of leverage. Essentially, the broker lends the trader money so that they can open bigger positions. Leverage multiplies the profits a trader generates from winning positions, but also the losses incurred from failed trades.
In the table below, I have listed the maximum retail leverage available with Versus Trade for instruments from different asset classes:
Asset | Maximum Leverage |
Currency Pairs | 1:2000 |
Metals | 1:2000 |
Energies | 1:200 |
Share CFDs | 1:40 |
Indices | 1:500 |
Cryptocurrencies | 1:500 |

There are no educational materials with Versus Trade. Beginners have to learn on their own.
Versus Trade is an up-and-coming forex and CFD broker established in 2024 and headquartered in Saint Lucia. It offers 170 tradable instruments across currency pairs, commodities, share CFDs, indices, and cryptocurrencies.
Versus Trade stands out with its competitive prices, swap-free trading, and rare cross pairs, allowing traders to exploit unique price correlations. The broker supports the MetaTrader 5 platform and has diverse trading accounts.
Regarding its disadvantages, I discovered that Versus Trade is not licensed or regulated and does not offer research or educational materials.
In conclusion, I determined that Versus Trade is a good choice for swing traders because it does not charge any swaps on some of the industry’s most popular instruments.
